Trail Crew - TBOP Creek Crossing

January 20, 2022

The ALPS Trail Crew volunteers spent some time splashing around in Atascadero Creek to improve the rock crossing that connects the trailhead to the trails. The key to a good creek crossing is large stable rocks with gaps that allow the creek water to flow between the rocks which lowers the level.

The crew also performed trail maintenance on the Oak Woodland Loop Trail and the Lookout Trail.  The work included cleaning off the main bridge and the two puncheons, knocking the tips off rocks sticking out of the trail, and clearing out drains to faciltate water drainage off the trail during rain storms.
