Trail Crew - Repair path under Hwy 41 overpass

January 15, 2026

The path underneath the Hwy 41 overpass was washed away during the last big rains which caused the Atascadero Creek to run very high for a short period of time.

The Trail Crew, with the help of a skip loader, repaired the erosion in the path by laying rocks on both sides of the large logs and then filling in with gravel.  The path was then packed down with a vibrating plate compactor.

The crew blew off the parking lot and scaped off the mud by the emergency exit.  Also on the list was the removal of the crushed fence along the path between the parking lot and the kiosk.  We will replace this fence at a later date.

If you are interested in joining the Trail Crew, send an email to ALPS at: info@supportalps.org
