Three Bridges Oak Preserve - trail work

December 11, 2025

The ALPS Trail Crew spend a long morning replacing some rotted logs that were used along the edge of the trail below the lower junction.  The logs were placed along the trail to provide a firm edge to maintain the integrity of the trail in this area.  The crew moved a 20' long log from above the lower junction down the trail about 100 feet.  This was done using small logs as rollers like ancient times to move large stones to build the pyramids, at least that was our thinking! Other smaller logs were transported to the area to replace other rotted logs.  Holes were drilled into the new logs so that rebar could be used to tie the log to the earth to keep them from moving.  It was another fun day outside for the Trail Crew!  If you are interested in joining the crew, email ALPS at:  info@supporalps.org  and provide your name and contact information.
