Adobe Springs Tree Trimming

December 5, 2025

The east side of ALPS' Adobe Springs property is home to many oak trees which share a border with Traffic Way.  Many of the trees have grown large and were hanging out over Traffic Way with the potential to scrap the tops of large trucks.  To remove this potential problem, ALPS contracted Sams Tree 805 to prune back the trees while still maintaining good tree symetry as much as possible.  The project required a traffic control plan which Sams developed and then obtained the required permit from the City.

A few small dead oak trees were also removed.  The small oak trees died from the Hypoxylon Canker which is a serious fungal disease that kills oak tree weakened by stress such as drought, construction damage, insects or heat.  There is no cure, so keeping trees healthy by managing tree stress helps.  Infected trees should be removed and the wood disposed of carefully to prevent spread.

Thanks to ALPS Board Member Cory Meyer for managing the project and providing on-site expertise to ensure our goals were met.
