Trail Crew - Three Bridges Oak Preserve

January 18, 2024

The ALPS Trail Crew volunteers performed some needed tread work on the trails at Three Bridges Oak Preserve.  The trails have been in use for 6-1/2 years since we opened on June 30, 2017.

The crew began work on the west leg of the Oak Woodland Loop Trail, improving the tread back to original specifications with a slight out-slope to shed rain water off the trail.  Many of the volunteers on the crew helped build the trails and have plenty of experience.

With the recent rains, the trails are in perfect condition to work the ground and re-shape the trail.  ALPS uses hand tools to shape the dirt and then compacts the trail with a plate compactor.
